After announcing the reopening of its three casinos over the past weekend, American casino & online wagering giant Churchill Downs Incorporated is now preparing to reopen two more of its entertainment facilities later this week.

Bill Carstanjen, Chief Executive Officer of Churchill Downs, said in a fresh statement that the company has plans to reopen the Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin, Md., and Miami Valley Gaming, an Ohio-based harness track racino JV with Delaware North, by the end of this week.

The steps include frequent sanitization of high-touch surfaces such as gaming equipment, handrails, doors and elevators; making arrangements for temperature screening of both team members and guests; installing plexiglass dividers between slot machines and gaming tables; asking all to wear face masks and use hand sanitizer to help keep the deadly virus at an arm’s length.

The aforementioned health safety protocols will be implemented at the entertainment giant’s other gambling and gaming facilities as well. The list of yet to be reopened casinos includes the Oxford Casino Hotel in Maine, Presque Isle Downs Casino in Penn., and the Rivers Des Plaines Casino in Illinois.

The planned reopening of the Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin and Miami Valley Gaming in Ohio would make seven of the casino operator’s ten entertainment venues open to the members of public in some capacity.
